Boys, Baseball and Beers

Jay and Matt arrive in Phoenix for three days of beer and baseball.  They pick up their rental car which happens to be a Kia Soul (anybody know the commercial where the hamsters are driving this car?  It's one of Sammy's favorites).  I ask Sammy, "Do you think Daddy and Jay look like hamsters driving around town?"  She replies, "Well, they are a little chubby, and a little furry and also cuddly, so . . . yes!

And, so begins their big weekend.  I think the photo and this poem (found on a t-shirt of one of the patrons at the local beer festival that weekend) pretty much sums up the theme of their trip:

Our Lager
Which art in barrels
Hallowed by thy drink
They will be drunk
I will be drunk
At home as in thy tavern
Give us this day our foamy head
And forgive us our spillages
As we forgive those who spill against us
And lead us not to incarceration
But deliver us from hangovers
For thine is the beer, the bitter and the lager
For ever and ever
